PCNS behavior

Hello,

I am installing PCNS for few servers and I want to test the shutdown. In the NMC I have selected the shutdown behavior as "Reboot on line return". After power off, the servers shutdown due to "On battery". The UPS is still running on battery since I have disabled "turn off ups after the shutdown finished" in all the servers with PCNS.

The question is : If the mains returns at this stage will the ups still cycles the output power or it just change to online and keeps working without breaking the output to the load ? My requirement is to keep the ups working without cycling the output power - reason is other network devices are still working on the output. Or should I change the shutdown behaviour to "Turn off and keep off" ? This is SYPX 80KW system.

Silcon does not support "turn off UPS". Rest of the behaviour should be same I guess!

Bala,

The decision would be up to you dependant upon your requirements for runtime. If you select reboot online return, the UPS will cycle power to itself once power returns to it, subsequently rebooting anything that hasn't been powered down by PCNS, and the PCNS servers, if the BIOS is configured properly, will turn back on.

Is this behaviour also valid for APC Silcon DP360E.
