PCBE

Hi
Any body can give me a help regarding with my PCBE. This is the situation. I brought 2 unit of SUA1000 with NMC AP9617, 1 PC ( not a server ) and a switch. Then i install a PowerChute Business Edition Agent 8. I dont have a internet connection. All i want, if there's is a alarm to my UPS, it will automatically notify me like pop-up alert to my screen...Thanks in advance

Are you looking for server gracefully shutdown solution or UPS monitoring solution?

If it is for PC shutdown, as you have 2 NMCs installed in the 2 UPS, you should not install PCBE becasue PCBE works with serial or USB communication . Is this PC powered by 2 UPSs? If so, you can install PCNS which can communicate with up to 3 NMCs. for details, see multiple UPS configuraiton section in install guide:http://www.apcmedia.com/salestools/PMAR-7ANF49_R1_EN.zip

If it is for UPS monitoring, you can just put IP address on the two cards and then you can access the cards via web,telnet etc to monitor the UPSs.

it appears you changed your question after I replied.

PCBE is based on physically connection, so I don't think you can get popup message with only one PC connected to one UPS. This PC with PCBE can only communicate with one UPS. If you can have one hub or switch, you can simply use PCNS to get what you needed. PCNS can work with mulitiple UPS, when one of the UPS has some events happening, you can cnfigure the PC to receive popup message if the PC is not running Vista or win2008 as these 2 OSs have no message service.
