I have a Smart-UPS 2200 SMT200 connected to a x86_64 (Fedora 14) linux workstation. I'm trying to install PowerChute Business Edition v9.0 Agent from the pbeagent-9.0.0-613.i386.rpm, but, when I run the config.sh script, no matter what Username/Password combo I use, it tells me:
"The username and/or password is incorrect. Please try again."
What am I missing. Has anyone gotten this to work?

Actually, what happened was that config.sh actually had accepted my password w/o confirmation, but since it started echoing characters after the first 8 for some reason, I thought that it hadn't.
After de- and re-installing PCBE, everything worked fine, and using the experimental approach I was able to write an appropriate shutdown script to replace default.sh and configure the UPS to meet my needs, despite the pathetic documentation..
You were right about APC being no help. I submitted a trouble ticket and got a polite reply saying that I was SOL unless I ran a decrepit version of Red Hat or SUSE Enterprise. Looks like linux is a poor sister w/ APC and their support people only read from scripts w/o giving the problem any thought. Sigh.

I don't think APC is going to be able to help with this since Fedora isn't on the list of supported platforms for PCBE.
