I have a standalone Hyper-V server in a workgroup running the 8.00 agent. Previously when PBE detected the computer it saw it as the computer name all in capital letters such as NAME. This was even though the computer name was in lower case. Seems to be something that happens when not in a domain that the agent does. Anyways after applying rearranging the cables so that the server is managing a 1500 smart ups instead of a 1000 smart ups and then today coming in and applying 2 Windows updates (may have had nothing to do with it) and doing a reboot, PBE shows the machine as it's workgroup name in capital letters instead of it's computer name in capital letters.
For instance in PBE I have 9 machines:
machine1
machine2
machine3
MYWORKGROUP
machine4
All the machines are in domain however the MYWORKGROUP is actually a computer in a workgroup. How does PBE go about determining what name to use to display?

Actually still dont know why but it's clear it's a networking issue.
What I would like to know is how does PBE determine what name to give the host it adds when it detects what out there is running the Powerchute agent?
