OS / Command File Delay and Duration Parameters
1) I have the basic Business edition of PowerChute, no web interface, no network cards. I noticed recently that my server started to shutdown after the power was down for 1 minute or so. The setting for "When Power Fails Begin a shutdown procedure" WAS set to "At Runtime Limit". I have about 40 minutes of estimated runtime, so, should I maybe just set this to "After UPS has been on Battery" and maybe 25 minutes or so?
2) Lets suppose I want to run a script that also shutdowns my laptop via NT script. I see that I can configure a "Shutdown Sequence", but it's confusing and clicking Help does nothing. I searched for help files, but don't see much in the folders. I see parameters for delay and duration for OS and for Command File. They are currently set to OS 1:00 delay and 3:00 duration. I understand what the words mean, but not exactly how they will apply. For example, let's say that at UPS on battery for 20 minutes, I want to run a command file that takes 30 seconds to run and then shutdown the server. The server takes 4 minutes to do a complete and safe powerdown. How would I go about configuring this, and would my first question affect the answer here? This should really be easier than it sounds, but maybe I'm an ignorant user when presented with the user interface. Any thoughts are most appreciated.
