Hi all,
I am new to APC Symmetra UPS and I am looking to purchase a UPS for a raised floor computer room with roughly 10 rack cabinets in total.

Yes the UPS and Additional XR battery frame will take up the space of two server racks.
The UPS you are looking at has built in distribution that requires the prefabricated breaker and cordset module. This module clips into place inside the UPS to allow easily configurable distribution. The one you have been quoted has 3 whips each is a 3 Wire 32A IEC309 and the lenghts are 300cm, 360cm, 420cm.
I believe the UPS you are looking into can support up to 6 of these distribution modules. However you still have to stay within your load levels as you can add to many modules and load which would result in overloading the UPS.

As far as a Maintenance Bypass system. I think this should always be included if your load cannot be shut down for maintenance activities. Most maintenance actions can be performed on the UPS with it online however there are certain conditions that would require you to either be able to place the system into maintenance bypass or shutdown the load. I'm not very familiar with your regions Bypass enclosures and if there are currently and wall mount options however the full size unit with additional distribution is the:

This will also take up an additional amount of rack space.

The SY32K48H-PD has space for 3 16KW power modules. This particular model comes with 2 modules installed for a total load of 32KW. You can add the additional module in the future for a total of 48KW. The UPS also has 3 rows of batteries internal (1 additional SYBT9-B4 can be ordered) but since you specified 1 hour of runtime the configurator included the additional battery frame SYCFXR48-9 which includes and additional 9 battery rows.
The vendor who recommended SY16K48H-PD with 3 x SYBT9-B4 did not look at your requirements. This only model can only support 16kw of load as sold and would not provide your 1 hour of runtime with the 3 SYBT9-B4 which is a row of batteries. In order to get a SY16K48H-PD to support your needs you would also have to purchase an additional power module SYPM10K16H and a populated XR battery frame SYCFXR48-9

Thanks Upsguy for your answers.
So, if I get the additional battery frame SYCFXR48-9, I will need 2 x rack cabinet space for the whole UPS. Is this correct?
The vendor also included the following. What does it do? Is this mandatory?
PDM1332IEC-3P
APC IT Power Distribution Module 3x1 Pole 3 Wire 32A 3xIEC309 300cm, 360cm, 420cm
Lastly, do I need a bypass switch?
Does the UPS come with one already?
This will allow the servers to continue to run on mains while maintenance is done on the UPS.
