Hi Everyone,
|'m looking to upgrade my Matrix 5000 UPS, however, I am not sure how much Va or Watts is currently used to power all my devices connected to the UPS. I have an AP9619 card installed in my UPS. Could someone please tell me where I can find out how much load is on my UPS?
Thank you,
D

With that many external batteries, runtime should be almost proportional to load up to 100% of rated capacity whereas with single pack, the non-linear character of batteries reduce the runtime to 1/4 at 100% load compared to 50%.
I'm not sure how much life you have left in your batteries, but if the remaining 60% capacity is adequate for the next few years, I'd wait until it's time for battery replacement to get a new UPS. With 5 external batteries, you have considerable investment.

No, this would only affect your on battery runtime.

Hi again,
Here is what I got:
From this link to the MX5000 tech specs [which can be seen here|http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=MX5000], we know the Matrix 5000 provides 3750 watts and 5000VA.
I logged into the Matrix I have access to, which is also a 5000, and what you want to do, assuming you have the newer 3.x firmware, is go to the UPS tab, then go to the Status section on the left. It should give you the percentage of wattage and VA and then we can figure out how much of the unit's capacity you are using. So on my matrix, we have 22.8% watts load on there so 22.8% of 3750 is 850 watts we are using.
I attached a screenshot of what I have 🙂

Thank you for your post.
My UPS reported a usage of 40% and I have 5 external SMARTCELL batteries. Would this affect my 40% if I have external batteries?
Thank you,
D
