I need to install a NMC AP9630 in a Symmetra LX systema, but I can not write the IP address information, the configuration Wizard discover the NMC and show the IP information window, I fill the fields for IP address, subnet mask and Gateway, the I click finish but the address never get written into the card.
Cuold you please explaine what is missing and how can I get over this issue? the version of the card is v 30.1.
I have tried the procedure via the serial port and the result remain the same, the card can not accept the IP information and reset all the info. to zero..
Thank you in advance.

Nestor,
APC K-base ID:3061 says that With the Network Management Card 2 family(AP9630), the Device IP Configuration Wizard v3.0.1 and below will not work via the local method inside the wizard.
Secondly, I am wondering if you are using the appropriate cable and configuration settings. FYI....*APC's new Network Management Card 2 (AP9630, AP9631) accessories require different configuration settings.*
In order to connect to one of these cards, you must use the 940-0299 Tip, Ring Sleeve (TRS) to DB9 cable and connect it directly to the NMC2 into the 2.5mm jack labeled "console" rather than the UPS serial port.
Within a UPS, the NMC2 devices communicate with the following port settings:
Apply the port settings to establish the connection.
Press 3-5 times to display the username prompt.
Use the default username and password of "apc"
You are now in the command line control console.
Type help to display all available commands.
Use the boot command to change the Network Management Card's boot mode. And then follow the [k-base|http://nam-en.apc.com/cgi-bin/nam_en.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=3061] instructions to assign an IP address for the AP9630 card.
You can also try ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) method to configure an IP address to the card.
I hope that this helps.

yes, as techie said, the wizard has been tested with AP9630 and only works while assigning an IP address over the network via the wizard. you cannot assign an IP address via the local method using the device IP configuration wizard. If you have the serial cable, follow techie's instructions and use kbase # 3061 which will tell you what commands to enter and how to access the card directly without using the wizard.

I don't think the IP Configuration Wizard is working on those cards at the moment.
I suggest connecting to the card using Hyperterminal (9600 baud, no parity, no flow control) and the included configuration cable. Once you log in with the default password of apc/apc, you can type "help" to get a list of commands.
I'm not at work at the moment and don't have ready access to an NMC so forgive my vagueness here, but you want to use the "boot" and "tcpip" commands to set a manual ip address and set up the IP, default gateway, and netmask.
Hope that helps.
