Hi Everyone,
I am currently setting up my UPS so that I can navigate by host name rather than IP. When I type in the hostname- it does not resolve to the IP. Could you please advise why it isn't work?
Please note that my other UPS setup using a hostname is working properly. I have confirmed that my DNS server is entered correctly.
Thank you,
D

Derek,
Is it possible you can FTP into one of the cards that you have configured, and get the config.ini. Open it up, change the TCP/IP settings, to reflect the IP address of the card with which you're experiencing problems, and then put that config.ini file on the card that is problematic. I'm wondering if there are any differences in the config file. Also, are the firmwares the same?

Hi,
I tried to access the FTP on one of the UPS devices, however, I get "Service Not Available" when I attempt ot connect. I logged onto the UPS and confirmed that the FTP server is enabled on port 21.
Any suggestions?
Thank you,
D

What exactly are you trying to do with the hostname? Are you trying to type the hostname of the Network Card into a web browser or are you trying to type the hostname of a device (ie. email server?) into one of the NMC fields?
In regards to getting the config.ini file, is FTP enabled on the card? What version of firmware is on the card? Firmware can be found through the web interface either under Help/About System or Administration/General/About.
