I have an older APC Symmetra LX 16000:
|
Recently I've been receiving several messages a day:
Serial # : PA0852130721
Device Ser #: QD0852160369
Date: 05/11/2017
Time: 09:17:57
Code: 0x0009
Informational - System: Restarting. Stack overrun - Task 10.Stack overrun.
I've read on the forums about updating the firmware to resolve this problem, but I can't figure out where I should get the firmware and which specific version of firmware to use.
Its strange because this did use to happen on occasion, but now its happening pretty regularly, and sometimes multiple times a day. Any help would be appreciated,
Jeff Turmelle

Thanks for the quick response Angela,
APC OS
Version: v3.3.4
Date: 1/5/2007
I've attached the event.txt file, after masking the IP addresses.
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
Can you log into the Network Management Card interface and I need to know the firmware on that since it is the item experiencing the stack overrun.
I don't know what firmware you have on it now so you'll see either a baby blue/white-ish interface with tabs along the top when you log in - go to Administration->General->About and let me know what is there for AOS and app version.
If it is an older firmware, you'll see navy blue/white pages with navigation on the left and the versions for AOS and app will be under Help->About system. I believe you have an NMC1 so the info should be in one of these two UI locations.
No matter the firmware though, obtaining and providing the full event log would be extremely helpful for us. Instructions on getting the event.txt are here (I don't need the other log files mentioned.)-> http://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA156131
From there, we can make a recommendation on if a firmware upgrade is needed or if there is something else causing it where we may suggest a reset to defaults or similar.
