Need (updated) info on AP9537

Hi everyone,

First, a (hopefully) easy question:

My AP9537 network card has been previously working with Office365  SMTP.  I need to reconfigure it to use SendGrid, but I keep getting "Bad user name or password".   The auto-generated passwords for SendGrid are 70 characters long (can't make them shorter), and now I'm wondering what the max password length is for the network card software.

(Update 8/15/22) - According to APC, the maximum password length is 256 characters, so password length isn't an issue.

Second, can anyone point me to the correct firmware updates for this thing?  After searching the site for a couple hours, I hit this:

UPS Network Management Card v7.0.4 Firmware for Smart-UPS & Galaxy 3500 with AP9630/31/35 - SFSUMX70...

But when I try to run it, I'm told the firmware isn't compatible.

Thanks!

Hi @Buran,

The "application module" is the firmware type that you would need to run in your system - in this case, SUMX, which is used for our second generation Network Management Card (NMC2) in a SmartUPS. The latest version of SUMX we have is v7.0.8, which can be downloaded here: https://www.apc.com/us/en/product/SFSUMX708/ups-network-management-card-v7-0-8-firmware-for-smartups...

If you're having issues upgrading the firmware, you can try to do it manually over FTP instead of using the bundled firmware upgrade wizard - we have instructions on how to do that here: https://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA156047/#FTP

Hi @Buran

Thank you for reaching out to the SE Community, my name is Jon and I will assist you with this query.

To assist you with your query, it would be helpful if you can provide the actual hardware that you have where the AP9537 is installed to.  I am guessing that this is installed on an APC Rack PDU 2nd Generation.

If this is the case, the firmware that you have posted is meant to be used for network management cards (NMC) that are installed on a UPS.

You may download the latest rPDU firmware from this link, APC Rack Power Distribution Unit Firmware, Revision 7.0.8, For AP8xxx and AP7xxxB Series PDUs.

Should you need some help in upgrading the firmware, you may refer to this article, How do I upgrade the firmware on an APC Network Management Card (NMC) or NMC embedded device (Rack P...

I hope this helps.

Thanks Matt.   I held off on doing this for a while, but everything updated with no problems.  Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
