Hi.
I recently found and repurposed an old ATS from circa 2005 (fitted with an AP9617 NMC1 card).
Without checking any further, I went ahead and upgraded the AP9617 using the only firmware that was available on the APC/Schneider website. This applied AOS 3.9.4 and SUMX 3.9.3.
I can still login to the AP9617, but I can no longer see the ATS! Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Can someone kindly offer me a link to the original firmware (AOS 2.6.4/ATS v2.6.1), so that I can get back to where I started, or a newer version that will still support the ATS?

What is the specific model ATS on site?

That’s a APC AP7750 ATS you have there. The other similar model with an internal NMC is a AP7750A.
It would probably be a lot faster to contact APC Technical Support to see if they have the firmware archived somewhere.
In the interim I’ll look around to see if I still have a copy as I did update a AP7750A ATS to 3.9.4 / 3.9.3

I'm in the same boat, if someone could assist with the ATS firmware for the AP9617 in a APC AP7750.

What's also frustrating is that I have an identical spare ATS (also fitted with an AP9617), so I thought I'd be able to simply pull the .bin files off it (using WinSCP with FTP). Unfortunately, you can only pull the event, data and config files i.e. not the .bin AOS or ATS image files! Oh, and by the way, I also ran into the weird DHCP problem with these cards, in that you have to configure Option 43 to provide the "01 04 31 41 50 43" string, or the NMC card won't get an IP address!

I ran into the DHCP vendor cookie issue as well. There is an option in the config (at least on the version mine had before I blew it up with the "UPS" version) under the network settings that said something along the lines of 'require DHCP vendor cookie' (or something like that) that has to be turned off to make it work. In later revisions, it's off by default.
I was totally going to try the same thing you did; copying the bin files from a working unit. GRRR. Figures.
At this point I think we're probably out of luck on getting a copy of the correct firmware, unless some super amazing person has a copy lying around 🙂

I found a copy of the AP7750A ATS firmware. Whether this firmware applies to the stand alone AP9717 NMC I don't recall so use at your own risk! ☝️
Let me know how it all turns out and if it resolves the issue please do mark this as a solution.
NOTE: Seems the APC forum doesn't like the upload so please send me a PM with your email so I can provide a shared link via BOX.

Unfortunately the AP7750A firmware doesn't work with the AP9617 NMC1. It will look like it loads correctly, doesn't throw any errors, but will brick the AP9717. I found this out the hard way on one of my units (heh!). After the bricking, I tried to recover by removing the battery, resetting/etc. nothing. Just fair warning to anyone thinking of trying it 🙂

I ended up logging a support ticket with Schneider and they managed to provide me with the old 'apc_hw02_aos264_ats261.exe' application, so I was able to recover my AP9617 NMC / AP7722 ATS combination!
Thank you Schneider support!
I've asked if this firmware will be made available on their website or whether other users could log a support ticket (referencing my ticket) to get access to this firmware.

That’s great to hear but it would benefit a lot of people if you could host a link to download the same. 👍

Hey, all-
Thanks to Oper, I have the firmware. I've placed it at the following:
https://tinyurl.com/AP9617ATS
Full disclosure: I tried it on my APC AP7750 ATS with the AP9617 card, and it did not work for me (bricked my card, just as the AP7750A firmware did on another card). So- use at your own risk.
