I have a PDU (AP7931) that was powered of two weeks ago. Since it was powered on it has been sending out a near overload alert. No new equipment was added to the PDU since or while it was powered down.
We even turned off and removed a server that was being powered by the PDU, however the message is still being sent. The web interface is extremely slow and it takes an hour for the login page to be displayed and another 30 minutes for it to accept the login information. I was briefly able to look around and there are some values that were reset/cleared from the power down so I'm guessing the configuration may have been corrupted.
I'm also thinking that we may need to update the firmware on the PDU as we are a version or two behind.
I have to report on this every morning to the CIO and need to find a resolution to this. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

also, if you are using HTTPS access, it might be very slow..
the config.ini, event.txt, and data.txt might be good to see too.

How are you connecting to the PDU?
There was a speed issue some time ago when connecting via the ISX Manager. However, not as bad as you are reporting.
Have you tried resetting the management interface?
Use the reset button on the PDU. This won't (shouldn't) change or reset any of your settings, just reset the interface.
What firmware rev are you using now?
If you use ISX Manager it won't have provided any recent updates (since 2007). If you are using ISX Manager and you update to a recent firmware, ISX Manager may not recognise the PDU.

I was under the impression that the reset button would clear the settings and restore it back to factory defaults. If it does not do this then I will try to get it reset.
I will check for the firmware versions and post it later today.
We are using infrastructure central to manage the PDUs, would it be able to recognise the PDUs if we perform a firmware update?
Thanks.
