I've connected my Back-UPS ES 725 to my D-Link DS-320L NAS via its USB port. My NAS management software sees the UPS, lists the manufacturer, product, battery charge and status. It's set in a "Standalone" mode. A "Master" setting is also available to notify other devices via the network of a power failure. My question is; Will my NAS shutdown in the event of a power failure? This may also be a question for the D-Link folks but I thought I'd check here as well. Thanks.

Hi Robert,
My educated guess would be yes as it'd be silly not to but I do agree D-Link may know better as it seems specific to the NAS functionality.

Robert,
The understanding we have is yes. D-Link designed their units it interact with UPS (not vendor specific) and they should shutdown before the UPS battery drains completely. For specifics you should check with D-Link Technical Support.
