I am using a AMT750C to power a wireless ISP relay site where there is no PC, only an excellent connection to the public Internet.
The UPS connects to the APC cloud service where I can view its status.
But there seems to be no way to control the UPS remotely.
Since the UPS is 2500 miles from my office and there is only a Mac at that site, it seems that I can't even connect a USB cable to the UPS and set it up that way.
I have a Win10 PC here which has a VPN connection to the UPS, but Powerchute refused to install on my office PC and even it did would have only IP access to the AMT750C.
Am I missing some installation or configuration step? Thanks

Hi Bill,
Thanks so much for the link to APCUPSD.
I am astounded that the control functions cost more to add to the UPS than the cost of the unit itself. Clearly I bought a UPS with a small computer in it which includes Internet connectivity, so the HW and SW to support control functionality must already be in the UPS.
If I had free time I would try to attach a Raspberry Pi running APCUPSD to a dumb APC UPS and apparently get more functionality that I have gotten with this "Smart" APC UPS.
Instead, I may return this APC, since the smarts are so stupid in my opinion.
Thanks

Hi,
SmartConnect is designed for monitoring of the UPS. It is not designed to manage the UPS. To manage the UPS over the network you should install a network management card. The available models are AP9630, AP9631, AP9635, AP9640 and AP9641. The AP9640 and AP9641 are newer models of the AP9630 and AP9631. Here is a link to the product web page.
If you want to connect the Mac to the UPS you can use the built in shutdown software. See Schneider Electric FAQ FA159690
Another optional software for the Mac to communicate with the UPS is APCUPSD.
