Minimal Solution for a Startup Server Room
Hello forum! We are running a start-up in EU for media productions. We are trying to setup 2 render server and 2 data server in a temperature controlled room. We are looking for a minimal solution to protect all the devices and monitor the room temperature. We expect the UPS has the function to send shutdown signal to our servers once the room temperature rises over a threshold. The expected total power consumption is around 2000W.
According to our research, it seems AP9631+AP9335T will provide ambient temperature monitoring for any compatible UPS device. Is this enough to set up the automatic shutdown for the UPS? How to tell which UPS is equipped with AP9631 or not? Any thoughts are welcome.

Hi Yinghao -
Every Smart-UPS 5Kva or larger ships with a Network Management Card. On newer units it will be an embedded card that is based on the AP9631 and on older units it will be a physical AP9631 installed in the expansion slot. They include one AP9635T temperature probe by default and you can add a second one if you like. In addition, you will find some smaller units with an "NC" suffix that also include an AP9631.
