Hi all,
My company had quite a few MGE UPS and we wanted to download and install some managment software in the server incase of power trip, so as to shut down the servers gracefully incase the power fail to come back.
We are still using MGE pulsar extreme 2200. So can I use the PowerChute Business Edition to manage it?

I do not have an answer for you. However, I can provide you the MGE support number. Contact the MGE support at 800-438-7373(support option 2 for tech support) as they can provide you the management software information to monitor your UPS.

Hello bloodwater,
as mentionned in the thread the old MGE UPS SYSTEMS products couldn't be managed with the PowerChute softwares.All the small products of MGE UPS SYSTEMS are now sustained by Eaton company. So, you can use the softwares that were used for these products and that are always available (and sustained) in the eaton web pages. You can have a look in this page: powerquality.eaton.com then choose your country and select "software download" (blue arrow on the right side of the page). Then, choose "Pulsar series" (first link in the middle). You should arrive in this page http://download.mgeops.com/default.htm?lang=en. If you need a local solution (means RS232 or USB communication between your computer and these UPSs) and you are using Windows operating system you can download directly this software: http://download.mgeops.com/explore/eng/ptp/ptp_sol.htm?os=WIN&sol=PSP. For the local solution, don't hesitate to perform a short test even if your product isn't listed in the compatibilty list 😉 Supervision should be OK. Shutdown could require a short test: short power failure and power restoration; then very long power outage until shutdown; then power restoration when the UPS is shutoff. Then check a new short power failure that needs to be notified. Enjoy!
