Dear All,
Can any body tell me does MGE GALAXY 20 and 80kVA Ups's must need Service bypass panel to become parallel redundant? If I would like to run two OR three 20/20 kVA UPS 's without SBP then can it possible? and the same question is for 80kVA ups's???
I will wait for your responses.
Thanks a lot in advance.

Angela You know if we compare our APC Ups's to Eaton PowerWare the main difference is that Eaton gives every type of customization with their ups's. They generally do not use SBP and with their customized parallel kits they can parallel not only 2, but 3, 4, 5, 6.... so on.
You see in our parallel kits there is not a Jack for the third ups. Therefore if our customer wants to get paralleled their 3 ups's they simply can not. But in Eaton they can easily. I think this is a heavy draw back.

You're question is a bit vague as far as the exact model/SKUs so here is the best I can give you without knowing further details:
The Galaxy 3500 20KVA Single Phase output UPS can only be paralleled by using a purpose built APC SBP (SBPAR3I15K20R2M2-WP). The UPSs must be the same model (KVA rating) in order to accomplish this. Only two single phase UPS's can be paralleled together.
The Galaxy 3500 20KVA 3 phase output UPS can only be paralleled using a purpose built APC SBP (use SBPAR10K20H-WP for up to 3 UPSs) contact APC if you require a panel for 4 parallel units). Again the UPS's must be the same model number (KVA rating) and you can parallel up to 4 UPSs.
If you're referring to a Galaxy 300 UPS, then 2 units can be paralleled using a parallel kit: G3HTPARKITS, no need for a seperate SBP.
If you're referring to the Galaxy 5500 80KVA UPS then these can be paralleled up to a maximum of 6 units (only 4 units if he is to use an external bypass panel).
So again, since there are several Galaxy 20 & 80 KVA units out there, which UPS are you referring to so that we can give you more relevant details.

Dear Angela,
Asusual, What a great, detailed neat and clean reply from your side.
Please see the following,
Firstly, I am referring 3 phase In and 3 phase out ups's.
Secondly, as you say, If you're referring to a Galaxy 300 UPS, then 2 units can be paralleled using a parallel kit: G3HTPARKITS, no need for a seperate SBP. My question is If i wanna run 3 or 4 galaxy ups's (300 series, 20kVA) then it can run without SBP only using parallel kit? simply, how many same rating ups's i can run without SBP??
Lastly, For mge galaxy 5500 series 80kVA UPS'S , What I understand, You say that, maximum 6 units can be paralleled but only 4 units can be paralleled without SBP but for 6 units we would have to use SBP right?
Will wait for your response.
Thanks again.

Here is additional feedback from our 3 phase EMEA support:
Firstly, I am referring 3 phase In and 3 phase out ups's.
Secondly, as you say, If you're referring to a Galaxy 300 UPS, then 2 units can be paralleled using a parallel kit: G3HTPARKITS, no need for a seperate SBP. My question is If i wanna run 3 or 4 galaxy ups's (300 series, 20kVA) then it can run without SBP only using parallel kit? simply, how many same rating ups's i can run without SBP??
The limitation is 2 X UPSs in parallel. The parallel capability of the Galaxy 300 allows up to 2 units to be run in parallel (3:3 version only) for increased redundancy. All UPSs must be the same kVA rating.
Lastly, For mge galaxy 5500 series 80kVA UPS'S , What I understand, You say that, maximum 6 units can be paralleled but only 4 units can be paralleled without SBP but for 6 units we would have to use SBP right?
You may find the guide below of interest to you as it explains the various configurations of our UPS's.
