I can't help but feel APC isn't quite being on the level about this "Lost Communications" problem with the Smart-UPS 750. I have tried the APC Serial to USB converter. Doesn't seem to help. Two days ago I even put an actual APC Smart Serial Cable (not converter) on a server and updated it to the latest and greatest PowerChute 9.0. Today it Lost Communications.
Has anyone else had fits with this "Lost Communications" issue and the inability of APC to correct it?

Is this an SUA750? Just make sure you braindead the UPS when switching between communication methods as that can cause flaky communication.

They are all SUA750s. I took a count this weekend. I have 7 of them left that are losing communication even after switching from USB to Serial. Really nice mess. You pay for APC quality and this is what you get. What are the steps in brain deading? I'll put in another hour or two on this and then switch to TrippLite π
