Hi Everyone,
I'm looking for some advice on what I should purchase and install for a customer of mine. I would like to have the ability to monitor and test the entire system from a management window. I also need to be able to setup automatic shutdowns if runtime falls below a set level. I cannot use DB9 cables run all over the closet so I was hoping for remote, via tcpip connections.
Any info you could provide would be very helpful.

Throw those DB-9 cables in a box. Stick the UPS on the network using the AP9617 Network Management Card like Wild said. You can then monitor and test the entire system with the built in management interface from your IE browser window.
Use APC's free Power Chute Network Shutdown software for automatic and unattended graceful server shutdown when the UPS runs out of battery runtime.
awwww... look at that.. I need a new avatar
