Long delay after VM-Shutdown till ESXI-Hosts are also shut down

We have 2-node esxi system (standard edition) with nodes A and B. Node A is hosting the vma.

After the APC triggers the alert, the hosted VMs are shutting down normally as expected on both nodes.

After all VMs (except the vma) are powered down, node B switches to maintenance mode.

After that it takes 10 minutes till the ESXI node B powers down ("Enter maintenance mode succeeded for Host B" appears in logfile).

After another 10 minutes the ESXI-Host A together with the vma is powered down.

It seems like it takes 10 minutes to recognize that Host B has reached maintenance mode and another 10 Minutes to shutdown node A.

Is there a way to speed up the shutdown of the ESXI hosts or is there a reason why they are still powered on despite all VMs (except vma) are already down?

Hi,

That could be caused by the hosts having multiple NICs. We are working on the next version on PCNS that will allow for adjustments to Maintenance Mode. Look for an announcement in the next few months.
