Hi Walter
If the power module is faulty then you obviously have enough power capacity for your load without it, so it will be fine to swap out without going into bypass.
For your own piece of mind the extra few seconds it takes to go into command bypass and then maintenance bypass, is never a bad idea, but it isn't necessary.
