Hi. I have been an APC client for over 8 years, and am currently researching the purchase of several SURTD6000RMXLP3U for a data center. We use apcupsd to communicate our servers with our UPSs. Is this model compatible with apcupsd? Or does it require the use of the "Microlink" protocol?
Thanks for your help.

I think it is possible to use the AP9631 with apcupsd as it can support reading the information that the AP9631 would normally send to APC PowerChute Network Shutdown software.
I found it noted below and reference to PCNET:
So, it will not work over serial (or USB) as Bill noted but using some data from the pre-installed AP9631 may be an option if PowerChute Network Shutdown doesn't work for you or maybe doesn't support your operating system.

APCUPSD will work with SURTD6000 and all Microlink UPS. APCUPSD does not offer all of the same options with Microlink UPS as PowerChute does but works well as an OS shut down application.

Hi,
I was just reminded that the SURTD6000s do not offer USB communications so because of that APCUPSD will not work. I apologize for the inaccurate information. The unit will ship with AP9631 network card so depending on the OS you could use PowerChute Network Shutdown.
