Hi,
I recently aquired a Comet Extreme 9, including 10 battery units. I'm planning to use the setup as a "whole house" UPS but while testing the equipment I was extremely surprised by the idle power consumption of the UPS itself.
At best, the unit consumes 1kWh, but this peaks at times to 1400w. This is with or without a load attached (240V up/down stream, 5A load).
Is a "internal power use" of 1+kWh a normal figure for this type of UPS?
Alex

Hi dutchadept, unfortunately the product you are inquiring about is a single phase MGE unit which is owned my EATON (only 3 phase MGE units were taken over by APC). I would suggest reaching out to them (1 800 356 5794) to see if they can further assist. Hope this helps.
