Hi Guys,
This is my first post on the forum. I have some doubts and i've been trying to search without any luck or I'm just looking at a wrong answer. Hopefully, someone would be able to help me clarify things.
We currently have 2 x SUA2200RMI2U on a production environment. This 2 UPS currently don't have Network Management Card and I plan to install to both of them as this would help me tremendously in managing the status of the UPS and I can gracefully shutdown all our servers.
Here are the questions that I would like to ask:
Any advise/suggestions will be appreciated.
And thanks in advance, Guys.

Hello,
1.) No, you don't need to power anything down.. refer to this knowledge base to support that statement -> http://www.apc.com/support/index?page=content&country=ITB〈=en&locale=en_US&id=FA156132 You can just go ahead and install your new Network Management Card in the UPS. The only scenario in which I'd exercise caution if there is another problem going on where this could make it worse - i.e. your UPS is in a major fault condition or is smoking, melting, on fire, SmartSlot appears damaged, etc where you probably want to focus on addressing something like that first
When you're setting up your Network Management Card, make sure to use the included APC serial cable(s) as we have non-standard cables and connecting a standard cable can cause unpredictable behavior too. This is mostly a concern when customers connect a DB-9 cable to the UPS. The Network Management Card serial cable is not likely something you'll see many other places.
Hope that helps.

Hi Angela,
Thank you so much for the clarification, it's quite a relief.
Before I post this question yesteday, I was reading half-way the same link that you've mentioned but suddenly the page forward me to maintenance page. So since I haven't found any more reference, I registered and post my question here.
Please help me close this post and considered answered.
Again, thank you.

No problem - you're very welcome! I also found an outdated reference in an installation guide that I will get updated too.
