Hello!
In our company we have several smartUPS installed
With 2 of them now we have problems.
SU1500I and SU3000RM
After Input Power is lost - the SmartUPS fails and restarts after 1-2 seconds and then the output power is fom battery till input power comes again.
I changed the battery from SU1500I with new one but it is still the same problem.
Changed the sensitivy with the same result.
Battery status is normal
Battery voltage 27,4VDC
Runtime remaining 33min
SelfTest: passed
Are these UPS defekt ?

This is an abnormal operation of the UPS. The lights shouldn't go blank when it is transferring to battery. I would brain dead the UPS to check if it does any help. To brain dead the Smart-UPS, the load must be turned off and unplugged. Next, the UPS must be turned off and unplugged. Once unplugged, push and hold the off button for 6 to 8 seconds. The sensitivity light in the back of the UPS should go out and there should be a small audible click in the unit. At this point, the UPS can be again plugged in and started up.

do you have any event logs from either UPS from the network management card or powerchute business edition?
what types of cables (USB or serial) are connected to the back of the UPS? have you been able to replicate this by pulling the plug on the UPS or anything?

At the last KO in the Event Log there is only written:
07/01/2009 20:04:42 AVR Boost Active
07/01/2009 20:04:35 Communication Established
07/01/2009 20:04:28 Monitoring Started
The UPS is connected via RS232
And I can reproduce this error by disconnecting the AC input.
Now we would repair/change this unit.

Event logs do not show any abnormal operation.
How did you determine that the UPS restarts/reboots? Do you see a blink in the front lights when it reboots? Do you see any abnormal light indication in the front of the UPS? or Are you saying that the equipment which is plugged into the UPS looses power from the UPS when it transfers to battery? Had the UPS been working fine before? Have you changed any configuration which you think that caused the UPS to act this way?

If I disconnect the AC input all lights are black and all the equipment which is plugged into the UPS stops working.
After 1-2 seconds the lights on the UPS frontside are going back to their previous state except the yellow one indicating the the battery is providing energy.
And the connected equipment starts working.
I did not change anything.
After the third time AC lost I checked the lifetime of the batteries (3 years old) and I bought new ones. The second day after replacement I got the next AC lost and all the equipment was knocked out. Then I tried to reproduce the error by manually disconnecting the AC input.
