Incorrect UPS Model information

The model information for one of the UPS units we monitor is displayed as Smart-UPS RT ????? ?? ??

Where does it get this information from and can we correct it?

Hi, I have a SU700RMI2U and it says it is a Smart-UPS 3000 RM XL. This is what I get back from the AP9606 and (without the AP9606) per ser. Line 940-0024C from Powerchute. Both say I have a Voltage of 54,54V, there is an RBC22 Battery Pack build in with 2x 12V!!! As I see the UPS works, but I do not trust it. Anybody there who knows how to correct the model?

hi ann,

what type of UPS is it? how do you monitor the UPS? SNMP, web, etc? let me know specifically on what interface you see Smart UPS RT and then provide the exact model number of the UPS and we'll go from there.

Hi! We monitor it in Infrastructure Central and also log in through the web interface. The model information shows the same on both. It is a Smart-UPS RM 5000XL

ok - the only smart ups 5000 XL we have is indeed a Smart UPS RT 5000 - they are all XL models.

where do you see Smart UPS RM 5000 XL?

I would expect if you look at the actual unit and on the little white sticker with the serial number, you'd see SURT5000XLT/XLI or SURTD5000XLT/XLI.

if you can physically look at the unit, i suspect it is similar to this? -> http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=SURTD5000XLT

We just started having hardware issues with it. Could that be why the model information is displayed incorrectly in the monitoring tools and web interface? All the other UPS units that are the same model number display correctly.
