OK I saw a few other threads on this but none with any solution or explanation other than to return it.
In my case, my unit is maybe 1.5 years ago so it should still be under warranty. Also, my case seems to differ from the
others in that my unit was dead silent (when online) until today, and I've changed nothing recently as far as electrical
appliances around it or plugged into it. Battery is strong.
Issue: when turned on (online, full wall power), unit now makes a loud buzzing noise even with no load.
(On battery, the fan kicks in and you can't hear whether it still buzzes.)
If I plan to return it under warranty, is there anything they'll want me to check beforehand? The trim/boost lights were NOT on.
Can I remove the battery before returning it? Seems like a waste of resources to ship a good battery back & forth.
(I just checked the price of this unit if I had to buy a new one and see that the price has GONE UP by at least $100
at the cheapest seller since I bought the unit. I thought technology prices come down, not go up with time.)

If you can verify with tech. support via phone, e-mail, etc. that nothing in your configuration has changed, that you're feeding it proper input power, and you haven't abused the unit in some way (we don't pry too much), then there shouldn't be a lot of questions before an RMA other than LEDs, other sounds, maybe a test if deemed necessary. When we ship out a new unit we require having the entire old/bad unit returned, including the battery (disconnected for transit).
