How to install Powerchute on Opensuse 10.2

Dear Sir,

I just bought SURT-5000XLi for my client, for backup 2 Server in Linux platform using Opensuse 10.2. Unfortunately, I don't know how to install powerchute business edition (BIN file) under Linux O/S.
Could you please guiding me, how to install it step by step. It sound ridiculous, but I really need help.

Hi,

PCBE is not compatible with the RT's. You would have to purchase a Network Management Card and install PowerChute Network Shutdown.

However, you may want to check the PCNS compatibility list to make sure you can even use this UPS with your server with ANY PCNS software:

I believe SURT5000XLI should come with Network Management Card. From PCNS compatibility , it supports Suse professional 10.0 x86. Opensuse 10.2 is developed from Suse professional. If your server is running Opensuse 10.2 x86 edition, I would suggest to try installing PCNS on the server to see how it goes. As for how to install PCNS on Linux, please see PCNS install guide that is available in PCNS download page.

Yes, it does look like the SURT5000XLI ships with a AP9619 Network Management Card.
