Please Help.

It's also that available battery capacity decreases due to age. So 20% left might provide 10 minutes of power on a new battery but only 5 minutes on an older battery. And it's the time that matters.

Hi Osama,
In order to enable environmental temperature monitoring, the UPS needs to be equipped with an AP9631 Network Management Card. The required AP9335T temp sensor comes included with the NMC, and the acceptable temp thresholds can be configured in the NMC web interface. The PowerChute Network Shutdown clients installed on the computers can then be configured to initiate OS shutdown if the environmental probe readings are out of the configured tolerances.

Hey,
Thank you for responding. We already have "Network Management Card" Installed that you mentioned in your post.We have also done Configuration to initiate Shutdown if Battery is about to Run Out using "POWERCHUTE Software" !But how can we achieve OS Shutdown "If environmental Probe Readings are out of the Configured Tolerances(Specifically for Temperature).Looking forward to your Suggestion.

Hi Osama,
If there is an AP96335T temperature probe connected to the Universal I/O port 1 of the AP9631, the temp thresholds can be configured and enabled under NMC section Configuration->Universal I/O->Temp & Humidity->Port 1 Temp 1. Once the probe is connected, the PowerChute event Temperature Probe 1 Out Of Range will be available in the Configure Events section.

Hey SVS,
Ok.so The thing is how can temp thresholds be configured and enabled under NMC section Configuration->Universal I/O->Temp & Humidity? 😞 Following is the Screen shot of it. We have configured the setting from PowerChute Software Successfully.
Thanx again!

Hi Osama,
The 4 temperature thresholds are already enabled (ticked) in your screen shot. If you need shutdown at 30 C degrees, set the Maximum value to 30. Once this threshold is exceeded, PowerChute will initiate OS shutdown based on Temperature Probe 1 Out Of Range event.

Thanks a lot again 🙂

Hi Osama,
The available PowerChute events are all available in the Configure Events section. For shutdown based on run-time, the threshold is configurable in time, rather than in battery charge %. The useful choice here would be <Runtime remaining below threshold>.
The Return from Shutdown behavior in turn needs to be configured in the NMC web interface, in the Configuration -> Shutdown -> End of Shutdown section. Here too, the return delay is based on Available run-time (Return Runtime Duration) rather than Available battery charge %.
This is most likely the case because OS shutdown durations are usually defined in minutes, so it makes it easier to relate available run-time to this than available battery charge %.
