Hi,
You have a few options with that model. The unit should have network management card AP9619 installed. You can configure the network card and then install PowerChute Network Shutdown on the Windows 2003 system. When the card reports the UPS is on battery or has low battery depending on how you configure PowerChute the system will be powered down. The most recent version of PowerChute Network Shutdown for Windows 2003 is version 3.1 and it can be downloaded from this site http://www.apc.com/us/en/tools/download/index.cfm?dl_method=display_archived
NOTE: The network will need to be protected by a UPS as well. If not there will be no communications between the card and system. PowerChute Network Shutdown does offer the ability to power the system down in the event of communications lose.
The other option is to connect the serial cable (part number 940-0024) to the system and install PowerChute Business Edition 9.2 or install APCUPSD.

Thanks Bill,
I had someone verify for me that it does have an AP9619 EM network card installed and I have downloaded the software. I will go over there tomorrow or the next day and try to connect it up although I have a suspicion that it probably has an old configuration and username/password stored on it. That may be why it wasn't connected. If I read the AP9619 quick start correctly, I believe I can fix that by buying the serial cable and use a terminal emulator to correct that. Did I read that correctly or am I out of luck if it does have an old configuration?
Thanks again.
