Hi,
I have an old Back-UPS CS500 that's been in service for many years keeping some comms gear up.
It has been many years, probably almost 10 since I needed to run PowerChute, but I recall I could set the power sensitivity, look at the run time, and configure a few run options. I'd like to view / change the configuration now, but it seems PowerChute has moved on and I can no longer communicate with the UPS.
My model has the serial cable which plugs into a jack that looks like a RJ45 socket.
I note that PCPE only supports USB connected devices now. I've tried a PCBE, but this says something along the lines of "this device is not supported"
Any ideas on how to proceed? Also can some one tell me the signalling method for this UPS, I could try more options.
Thanks in advance.
Dave

Hi,
To close this out, after much mucking about, a colleague fished into his drawer and pulled out an APC USB cable 940-0127E
I fired up Powerchute Personal Edition and everything worked straight away.

Hi,
What is the serial number of the unit? You will find the information on the bar code sticker on the back or bottom of the unit.

Hi,
Is the serial cable you have turquoise on the computer side and RJ50 on the UPS side? If so the cable would be part number 940-0128 For software support you can use APCUPSD.
