Hi,
I've got an SMT2200I purchased early last year, it has the following firmware according to the NMC interface:
UPS 05.0
COM 02.1
UBL 05.0
CBL 5.21 (ID17)
I have no idea what the significance of the above numbers are. The UPS also has an AP9630 card installed which also has not been upgraded with any firmware from new (I don't know if one of the above numbers relates to it).
I tried finding firmware on APC's website but it doesn't seem like it's readily available for end-users? Do I need to speak to someone or email them to actually get this firmware & instructions how to apply it?
The principal reason for wanting to upgrade the firmware is that I do not have the option to turn off the LCD on the front (LCD DIsplay Options on the Standard menu), I believe it was introduced in a recent firmware.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks.
From looking at the 2nd link it looks like the highest I can upgrade the UPS itself to is UPS 07.1 (SMT Tower units with firmware < "UPS 08.0") - when there is a UPS 09.1 version available as well? How can I move to the most recent version (09.1) from 05.0?

For ID17, the latest I see is going to be UPS 07.1 as you noted. The UPS you have (ID17) will not support UPS 09.1 as of now.
Instructions on updating that UPS are located in the second knowledge base Bill P provided either via the firmware upgrade wizard (via serial or even USB if supported) or you can actually use the AP9630 to push an update to the UPS assuming your AP9630 firmware is at least AOS/sumx v5.1.5 or higher. Instructions here on that -> How do I upgrade my SMT/SMX Smart UPS firmware using my AP9630/AP9631 Network Management Card? | FAQ....

Thanks.
So I assume therefore that I'll never be able to upgrade via USB on an ID17 UPS because the highest firmware I can patch to is 07.1, and according to that update page you need 08.0 for USB updating?

Oh yes, you're right. I did not open the knowledge base to verify where the cut off was

I have the same problem of upgrading an SMT2200I. I do not possess this APC serial cable.
Is there any possibility, the upgrade wizard does not work.
Thanks Christian
