Thank you for reaching out to the SE Community, my name is Jon and I will assist you with this query.  Apologies for the issue that you've experienced.

Will you be able to share the serial number of the UPS as well as the full UPS firmware like the UPS and CBL firmware versions?  I would have to check if there is a specific firmware that we need to upload first on the UPS prior to moving to the latest.

Early versions of the SMX units (serials prior to AS1037) would need to upgrade their CBL to version 2.x before upgrading it to the latest.  Also, when you were doing the firmware upgrade, was the UPS turned off?
