Firmware Update of SmartUPS RT not working

Hi,

on the APC URL I found a "new" Firmware for the SmartUPS RT.
So I download it and I want to install it.

File: apc_hw02_aos373_sumx372.exe It is the Version V3.7.2.

The upgrade is NOT working.
I found out that the NMC Upgrade tool has the Version Number V1.2
This is an old version.
With Version 3.5.5 from the year 2007 you already use NMC Upgrade tool
in the Version 1.6c.
Why do you use an old version in the newest Firmware?

Can I use the tool V1.6c to supply the new Firmware?

can you elaborate on the failure and what specifically is happening?

OK, I will try it again with the NMC Version V1.2

But I will show you, it is not a joke. I wrote this because in 2008 I did an Update of the UPS with the V3.5.5
and I used the NMC V1.6c.

Can I use the NMC Version V1.6c to download this Firmware into the UPS system?

Background: The Version V1.2 that is within this zip file is NOT working!

i have downloaded this firmware file numerous times and have not had issues with the NMC upgrade wizard versions. you cannot use a different wizard version. it has to be the one bundled.

i am not sure where you see this version 1.6 because the latest version for 3.7.3/3.7.2 is v1.2. the only issue i know about it is that it will only support 9 characters for username (instead of 10). [http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/768|this is noted in kbase 768.]

ok, i understand. i don't know why it changed but you always need to use the bundled tool as far as i know.
