I have a small test server running Windows 2008 Server. I am considering buying the Back-UPS Pro 1500G for this machine and I have a question. I want to connect the ups via the usb cable to the server so that I can shut down the server cleanly in the event of a prolonged power outage. My question is will the PowerChute Business edition software be able to communicate with the Back-UPS Pro 1500G?

Only PowerChute personal edition works with our current back ups line(including 1500g). There is no official support for windows 2008 server for Powerchute personal edition so it may or may not work properly. We recommend using our Smart UPS line for network/servers equipment and Only our Smart UPS line works with powerchute business edition. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
