We have a Windows 2003 Server that has a SMART-UPS 1000 on it. The APC PBE agent is stuck on "starting." We had to set it to "manual" instead of "automatic" because it was keeping us from remoting into the server. The rest of the server would load, but be stuck on "Loading network settings." After changing the start options, the server would boot up just fine. I wanted to try to reinstall the software, but no matter if I try to uninstall through Add/Remove Programs or try to do a reinstall from the cd, the APC PBE agent service stays on "starting" status and it comes up saying that it has encountered a locked file and then proceeds to tell me which file. If I click "ignore," then it shows me another one. In total, there are probably 6 or so files that are locked. One of the files is pbeagent.exe. I have no clue what I can possibly do from here. Please help me out if anyone has any suggestions!!! I have spent too many hours on this already. Thanks for your time in advance!
