I have a Symmetra PX with an Network Management Card running application module px2 v3.7.7 and AOS v3.9.0. I can connect and login to FTP on the NMC, using the Windows command-line FTP client, but whenever I issue an "ls" or "get config.ini" command it just hangs on "about to open data connection" and eventually times out.
I have also tried SCP. That also fails after a long delay.
I want to get the config.ini file for upload to a replacement card. This one has been mysteriously restarting every couple of days, so we ordered a replacement part. I'd really like to avoid figuring out how to configure all the settings from scratch. And ideas why I can't download the config.ini file?

Hi Carlo,
It's possible that the FTP data port is blocked - the NMC uses port 21 as the server, but port 20 to actually transfer files. Could there be a software firewall blocking ports between your PC and the NMC? Could you perhaps make a direct network connection between the NMC and a computer?

This was an obvious possibility that I had written off because there is no firewall between my PC and the UPS NMC, and the Windows firewall is turned off on my PC. But your question made me think about the Checkpoint endpoint security. And yes, it turns out it's the Checkpoint endpoint security blocking the high-port-number data connection from the NMC back to my PC.
