I got an error code p.05 and the output is shutoff and I cannot turn it back on. I put in new batteries that were overcharged and that sent the code. How do I reset the code? Is there a way?

Perhaps you should start off by calling out the APC UPS SKU, Serial Number. Followed by providing the following logs for the system in question: Event, Data, UPS.
That would be a good place to start if you want any kind of meaningful help.

I did the same thing. I tried the recommended steps to reset the code, i.e remover any devices plugged into the unit, unplug the unit, remove the battery pack and then press and hold the start/on button for 10 seconds. Then put the battery pack in and plug the unit into a wall socket and turn it on. That did not work. The standard reply is if that does not work is that there is a welded relay and that the unit has to be scrapped. There are some YouTube videos of people replacing relays, and it is not to hard to test which relays are damaged if you open the box and test the relay pins that stick out on the printed circuit board. In a SMT750C there are 4 relays total. One of them is a double gate relay and the others are single gate relays. One reader replaced all 4 of them to no avail and the error code did not go away so the fault may be more complicated that just a welded relay(s). You can see where they are in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TT9je5yo7yM
So in my SMT750C (120v) the relays are 1 each, PRF2A15DC24K-1.5 HASCO PCB Power Relay 24VDC DPST-NO 15A with 6 pins and 3 each 5 pin HF14FF 024-1ZST(451) TV-5 with 5 pins. I might try to fix it, but I can get a used SMT750C here in Mexico without batteries for between $30 and $50 dollars so a repair is a lot more expensive than getting a used unit.
