what version are you trying to install? i don't think Windows 2000 is supported by the newer 9.X versions.

what UPS model are you trying to use this with? We'd first want to make sure whatever version I give you supports the UPS. Can you verify the UPS model number off the white sticker on the back or bottom of the unit? I think 7.0.5 might work for you and I can get you the link once I verify the UPS will work properly with 7.0.5.

ok, that is going to be a problem. SMT750I requires powerchute business edition 8.5.1 or higher. the problem is that 8.5.1 and higher does NOT support Windows 2000.

the options you have are:

a.) Use Windows native OS support - instructions are here in the knowledge base @ http://www.apc.com/site/support/index.cfm/faq/ - refer to article ID FA159587

b.) Consider purchasing an AP9620 legacy communications card. This will convert the UPS communication language and work properly with version 7.0.5 which will work with Windows 2000. more information on this card is located in the knowledge base @ http://www.apc.com/site/support/index.cfm/faq/ ..refer to article ID FA156172

c.) Consider using purchasing an AP9630 or AP9631 network management card for your UPS and use PowerChute Network Shutdown instead.
