General Alarm Output Dry Contact Interface Information The default function of J9 is the general alarm output dry contact interface. When one or more warnings are triggered, an auxiliary dry contact signal will be active via the isolation of a relay. The interface diagram is shown in Figure, and description is shown in Table.
The contact is rated for 3amps @240V.
I would advise to use the Normally Open J9-2 and J9-3 Gnd as a switch in series with the beacon circuit. You will need to power the beacon circuit externally, When the UPS issues a warning the Normally open contact will close hence completing the beacon circuit.
The Dry contact simply operates like a switch that opens or closes the circuit. When the contacts are closed the current flows through the contacts and when the contacts are opened no current flows through the contacts.
