I have set up email notifications on my AP9630 management cards. However, once set up, I don't see how to view what the settings are. I tried reading the config.ini file, thought they might be in there, but i can't identify them there. Anyone know how to view the notification settings?
Many thanks,E

The knowledge base article helps the customer enable/disable hidden events but that is one way to quickly open it up. To my knowledge you can view the events by group but it will just show you what kind of notification was set and you still need to drill down a particular event to check the e-mail settings.

Welcome to the APC Forum Michael.
Kindly open a network management card web interface and then click on the Administration tab and then choose the Notification button. It should show the different notification settings.

I have been in that tab, that's where i configured my notification settings. It allows me to define actions for a group of events, but not to view what actions have already been configured. I send emails to 3 people for critical event notifications, for example, but nowhere do i see a way of selecting an email recipient and seeing what notifications are configured for him. Equally useful would be to select a group of events and see what the notification settings are for that group. I don't see that either.

Michael,
One way that I know to check the notification settings on a network management card is by going into the notification settings then go to by Event. Click on Power Events and you'll see the different settings and there will be a dot on a particular event that is configured. Select the event that you would like to check and from there you'll see the list of configured recipients. You'll also notice that after the description of that event there is a hexadecimal code, that is what do we call as the event ID. If you know the event ID you can use this URL to open it without going through the steps I've mentioned [http://nmcIP/eventdtl.htm?code=] just replace the NMC IP with the IP address of your card and paste the event ID after the equal sign.
This step is also outlined in our knowledge base -- [http://nam-en.apc.com/cgi-bin/nam_en.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=8673]

thanks for the quick response. The article refers to disabling hidden events....?
I see now how i can, on an event-by-event basis, see who is configured for email notification. is there a way to dump that as a single report, or view it by group, say all Critical?
thanks,E
