Deploying the PowerChute Virtual Appliance on ESXi 6.7

Dear All,

I have environment consist of ESXi 6.7 installed on physical server as host and inside it number of VM machines and one Smart UPS model SMT2200RMI2U.

I'm trying to deploy the PCNS on my environment to control shutting down the VMs then the ESXi host in case of power failure , and to accomplish this I downloaded from APC download site the "PowerChute Network Shutdown v4.3 for Virtualization (64-bit systems only) - SFPCNS43-V.

But not able to find any .ova/.ovf version included while the documentation mentions the steps for this version installation as appliance !!

even searched for any .ova/.ovf Appliance but couldn't find any for this ups model.

I don't know what I'm missing - any help highly appreciated.

Do you think still I need the windows version also to be deployed or the Appliance will be enough, because this word in the Appliance download is confusing me it says "**UPS Configurations Only***

Hi,

You only need the appliance. You do not need the Windows version.

"PowerChute Network Shutdown v4.3 VMware Virtual Appliance **Single / Redundant / Parallel UPS Configurations Only**" mean the PowerChute VM only supports Single, Redundant or Parallel UPS configurations. There is also an Advanced Redundant UPS configuration available and it is not support when running the VM.
