Hi,
We have a Dell PowerEdge T410 plugged into a SMART-UPS 1000VA (Rack mounted). The Dell has 2 PSUs (Rated Input 780W and Max Output 580W). When we pull the mains supply to the UPS, and it goes to battery, the Dell Server loses power and the Overload warning light is activated on the UPS. We have the same problem if we just connect one of the Server's PSUs. We selected this UPS based on the APC sizing tool - has anyone used this combination?
We also have the same problem with a Dell R410 (Rated Input 680w and Max Output 500w). We have 2 SMARTUPS-1000VA units and the plan was to plug a PSU from each Server into a different UPS unit. I guess we could be looking at either the 1550 or 2200 models instead.
thanks.

I contacted APC support and they also mentioned the PFC problem. They recommended looking at either the SMT or SMX range of UPS. Shame the APC tool didn't mention this when we tried it. thanks for getting back to me.

i have never seen this particular combination cause an issue but it may be related to this. you picked this specific model server in the selector and this is what it returned? when did you do this? Also, was the overload LED flashing or solid?
