We have a DLA3000RM2U unit with a battery that has probably been replaced within the last year. Today the unit suddenly shut down and then attempted to restart repeatedly at 3-5 second intervals; it did this repeatedly until we forced the unit to shut down through the front panel switch and then performed a restart which was successful. We had beeping indications previously that it needed a battery replacement. We ordered a new one which has not arrived yet. Could this be a deeper issue with the UPS itself. The unit is supplied from a 30 amp 240 volt circuit.

No serial cable plugged in and unfortunately in this unit no network management card. What network management card is compatible with this unit?

did you have a serial cable attached by any chance? and did you remove it? i ask because we have seen issues with faulty serial cables in the past but it generally only causes constant self tests but it is possible it could also cause an issue with output and turn a UPS off i suppose. a non APC serial cable could very well do this too.
do you have a network management card (NMC) installed by chance? or the powerchute software running on an attached server? its hard to say but i was hoping either an NMC or powerchute log could give us some answers.

you can look for either AP9617/18/19 (maybe used you can find a good deal) or the newer AP9630/31. the problem is that because you didnt have one, there will be no logs stored in the UPS itself. so buying an NMC now will help gather information for any future issues but not so much now.
i feel like i have seen this once before. maybe there was a blip with the input power for a weird firmware bug to display itself, i don't know 😞 just a guess.
NMC or Powerchute with logging will be good if it happens again though.
