Hi Guys (new to the forum)
I have a busy 3 pc setup in a home office and due to several utility power cuts recently decided to get a UPS as my machines are never generally shut down. Having bought and installed a second hand unit everything seemed to go ok for a few weeks then the AVR trim light came on suggesting high incoming voltage, shortly after this the battery replace light came on and despite several tests stayed on. I replaced the battery pack with a new fresh one and again everything seemed ok until today the AVR trim light has come on.
I have read that I may need to make adjustments to the settings using powerchute, herein lies my problem!
Having connected the UPS via a USB cable to a vista machine and downloaded the correct version of powerchute I cannot get the thing to communicate, I get an error dialogue box open saying it can't find the UPS. I then tried the same with an XP based machine, this time the machine recognised the UPS the minute I plugged the USB cable in...but again having downloaded the powerchute version for XP I am again getting the same dialogue box opening saying it can't find the UPS.
I'm not totally thick, but have no expereince of setting up a UPS and need some advice.
Can anyone help me out here?
Regards
Nick

Please try to install [Powerchute Business Edition 9.0.1|http://www.apc.com/tools/download/download.cfm?sw_sku=SFPCBE901&software_id=AKRN-8DWC9X&family=&part...], it should work with your DLA1500.

Hi SGHI, what APC software are you using in conjunction with the UPS?

I was hoping I would see an answer to this.
I am having the same issue with my DLA1500, plugged by USB cable into my PC. I am running Windows 7 64bit, and trying to install Powerchute 3.0.2. It can't seem to find my UPS?!?
Regards,
David
