Hey there,
First of, I'm completely new to the world of UPS`s. So excuse any dumb question.
We have a SUA3000RMI2U, with new batteries, which I'm trying to connect to, in order to set it up. The deivce has a AP9617 network card, which doesn't get an IP address by DHCP (my server doesn't have option 43).
I plug in a USB-RJ45 cable and under devices on the connected Windows computer I see "Smart UPS 3000 RM FW:666.6I USB W:7.3".
Now I have no idea on how to connect to the device.
My hope is that I get the Smart UPS to where it sends a signal to my NAS and server to shut down in case of a power loss, using the network card.
Any help, advice or hint is greatly appreciated!
-Tobi

Hi,
To connect to the AP9617 you should connect the serial cable that shipped with the UPS. The cable part number is 940-0024. Settings are 2400 bps, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, and no flow control. See Schneider Electric FAQ FA156064 for assistance. Once connected you will be able to configure the AP9617.
The startservicectrldispatcher failed error is a system error. PowerChute runs as a service and it is unable to start. When I searched the web using Google I found 13,200 hits for that error. Usually there would be a number along with the error and that should help you determine what is faulty on your system.

I tried using Putty with the fololowing settings:
Serial
COM1 (there's only one com port in the device manager)
Baud: 2400 / 9600 / 19200
Data Bits: 8
Stop Bits: 1
Parity: none
Flow Control: None
The window opens, I press enter a couple times, but nothing happens.

the cable i use is a 940-0127. The Issue is, I think, that the USB Port is no yet "converted" to a COM Port.
Which driver do I need to install, in order to be able to use the connection as a serail connection?
Or is there any other software, that can "talk" directly using the USB connection?
