Connect external battery to Smart-UPS

Hello,

We bought SMX120RMBP2U external battery pack for SMX3000RMHV2U Smart-UPS.

The question is, is it safe to connect it when the UPS is running?

Or should we connect it after shut the UPS down, disconnect from power, disconnect all servers/equipments?

Please advice.

The SMX120RMBP2U battery pack can be safely connected to the SMX3000RMHV2U while the UPS is running.

I connected the external battery pack while the UPS running.

The UPS asked if I connected new battery, I chose Yes, set date the external battery was connected and viola!
