Hello APC engineer,
I'm Beryl from Indonesia. Currently I'm facing problem with my Smart UPS SURT10000XLI with the Fault Led illuminates which means that it detects internal fault. So I replace with spare. But the confusing thing when I read the manual that :
Is this UPS need an external battery connected to UPS? What I understand from manual, that UPS comes up with internal battery (which I've check all in good voltage : 96.6V) and it doesn't need external battery if the load current rating below the UPS maximum supply rating.
But when I powered ON the UPS and push the button "1 Test", the UPS ON and the battery level shows maximum (full led) for a while and then the "Replace Battery" led illuminates every 2 second with "beep sound".
- Did I do something wrong?
- or Should I set the battery configuration via Hyperterminal?
Right now the UPS run smoothly if I connect my external battery to Port 1 and 2 (200V and 197V)
Thank you so much for any helps. Look forwars for your reply.

And one more confusing thing.
In user manual states that it has feature "Cold Start". But in the explanation states "This is not a normal condition. Supply immediate battery power to the UPS and connected equipment (see Troubleshooting)" (Page 8).
So, Should I do a cold start for my 'long-time-stored UPS spare' when it first comes on-line?
