Hello,
I have a APC 750 protecting a system from power outages, which it does well. I have apcupsd installed on a machine, connected via USB, which is monitoring it.
I would like to configure the UPS not to supply power to the outlets when mains resume after the runtime of the UPS has elapsed. That is to say, if the UPS's batteries run out after a prolonged loss of mains power and a shutdown is done, I do not want the UPS turning it back on when mains comes back. If the power resumes before the UPS batteries are exhausted, then it's fine to switch back to mains.
Is there a way to configure that?
Thanks!

Thnaks for the pointers, Bill. Unfortuantely, owing to where I am (Antarctica) I can't get new kit sent down anytime soon! I'll have to work out a solution with what I've got at hand π

Alenander,
Is the Smart-UPS 750 a SUA750, SMT750 or SMX750? The SMT750 and SMX750 have switched outlet groups so it may be possible. Also, is there a Network Management Card installed in the UPS?

I'm pretty sure it's a SMT750I. I do remember seeing in the options something about power outlet groups, but couldn't see any setting resembling what I wanted. I don't believe there's a Network Management Card installed, unless they come installed from the factory.
How do I go about manipulating the outlet groups to this effect? I remember the options in UPS's LCD menus being very sparse...!

Hi,
If you purchase a network card (part number AP9630) you can configure load shedding so that the UPS will run until the battery is low then start a shutdown and not power back up when AC is restored.
